Bo Turnage, DDS
Hailing from Hollywood, CA, Dr. Bo Turnage brings a bit of movie star glam combined with classic island hospitality to all his patients. He moved to San Juan Island in 2003 after practicing dentistry for the Hollywood stars, and later in Ellensburg, WA. With a particular flourish for cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Turnage has the most up-to-date technology and practices in the San Juan Islands. Be it a toothache or a routine cleaning, you're sure to enjoy your dental experience whether you choose to drink in the stunning views, play X-Box, or watch our ceiling-mounted cable TVs. It's Bo's firm belief that dentistry shouldn't be an unpleasant experience! Luxurious atmosphere doesn't mean luxurious prices—Bo offers some of the most competitive rates in the Islands.
Stephanie Woods, Hygienist
Stephanie is a registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from Colorado Northwestern in 1993. She practiced 8 years in Big Piney, WY, 6 years in Grangeville, ID and has been with Dr. Turnage since 2007. Steph and her husband Fred, school Superintendent, enjoy participating in the school events. They have two children, CJ and Kiana who are both attending college. In her spare time Steph likes to hike, read and spend time at the islands beaches.
Mariah Wheeler, Assistant
Originally from Texas, Mariah does it all—builder, baker, candlestick maker, and of course, dental assistant. When she’s not at the office you might spot her snorkeling in the Sound or as a speck on the horizon in her sea kayak. She’s been with Bo’s practice since 2014.
Leah Swearingen, Reception
Leah was born and raised in Reno, NV. She got her bachelor's degree at The Evergreen State College and has been with the practice since 2017. When she’s not at the office she moonlights as a pastry chef and home builder.
Jacklyn Justiniano, Hygienist
Raised right here on San Juan Island, Jacklyn is a true local. Before hygiene school, she interned with Bo during high school, and got inspired to become a dental hygienist after working with Stephanie Woods. After graduating PIMA Medical Institute in North Seattle in 2020, she immediately asked Bo if he needed help, and got her dream job with a view!
